Point to Point Networks

Point-to-point (PTP) networks consist of one or more fixed PTP links, usually employing highly directional transmitting and receiving antennas. Networks of such links connected end to end can span great distances reaching hundreds of kilometers.

Due to the great capacity and design flexibility, PTP links are widely deployed in cellular networks backhaul such as GSM, UMTS and LTE. PTP networks are common for Enterprise connectivity and access where throughput requirements are hard to achieve with other wireless solutions.
